Saffron in her cage the day they were born, her nest box behind her. She's
from my first litter, Cinnamony and
Frederick's daughter; this is her first litter, and Root Beer is the father.
Eight were born. One didn't make it; the other seven are in the nest.
As they grow
The seven in the hay of the nest box.
I don't take reservations until four weeks, once I can tell you sex honestly.
The day reservations open, the waitlist
hears first. For this litter there's no set day: each one is listed once it's photographed and I've checked it's in good health. The raised number goes here once it
is real, same as every litter.
S'Morri in front of the nest box the day they were born, the fur she pulled in
the hay behind her. Her second litter with Root Beer: their first was
Latte, Mocha
and Nutmeg, born .
As they grow
Three of them in the fur she pulled, in the hay of the nest box.

None of the three made it. The first
Netherland Dwarf litter here.
Two were peanuts, the breeders' word for a baby that gets the dwarf gene
from both parents. One copy of the gene is what makes a Netherland Dwarf so
small. A baby with two copies dies within a few days of birth, however it is
cared for. When both parents carry the gene, about one baby in four is a
peanut, so they are common in Netherland Dwarf litters.

The father is one of her breeder's own rabbits, so her litters carry his
pedigrees on both sides. Her breeder hand-picked her for me. He has been
breeding for more than 30 years, and both her parents are Grand Champions.
Bakalaki in the nest box the day they were born, in the fur she pulled for it.
None of the six made it. The second
purebred Holland Lop litter here.
Two died the day they were born. The other four got separated in the nest
overnight and died of the cold on the morning of 7 October. I tried to warm the
last two, but it was too late. At three days old they have no fur yet and keep
warm by huddling together. This is the first whole litter I've lost. For Tango's
next one, I'll build the nest myself and make sure the babies stay together.

Seven of them, in the nest box, in the hay and the fur she pulled. Taken the day
they were born.
By , at two weeks old, all seven were
out of the nest box: five fawn and two white. Some of the fawns had white markings
on their heads, the first time I'd ever seen that in a litter.
As they grow
The nest before I lifted the fur she pulled to cover them.
Out of the nest box: five fawn and two white.
At three weeks, on the cage floor with Cinnamony.

Taken the day they were born, before anything else. Six of them, in a nest
of shavings and the fur their mother pulled to line it.
Their eyes started to open on ,
at twelve days old. At six days one was white and five were fawn; coats can
still shift as they come in, so the honest read on color is at four weeks.
The dated photos below are them growing up; tap any to see
it full size.

One white and five fawn.
All six in the nest box, one in hand.
Their eyes are starting to open.
Out of the nest box, on a chair, and handled.
All six went up on the site on ,
at three weeks and two days, each with a photograph from the day before.

This is the photo from the day they arrived, before their eyes were open and
before they had any fur. The fawn rabbit in the frame is from the litter before this
one, about a month old here.
Six were born and four made it through the first fortnight. Losing babies that early is ordinary and it is not something I am going to leave out. This page is
worth nothing to you if I only print the numbers that flatter me.
The four went up on the site at four weeks old, once I could tell you their sex
and color honestly. Two fawn does (females) and two sable point bucks (males).
The litter that started it all: my first litter ever, and the first time I'd had
baby rabbits. I didn't have a nest box yet, and I didn't know she was pregnant.
Five were born. One didn't make it. The other four were raised: three went to
their homes before this site existed, so they were never listed here, and one is
Saffron, here with me.
The photo is from the day they were born: one of them in my hand, and the fur she
pulled for a nest in the tray.
As they grow
Saffron, one of the four, the day her own first litter was born.
Every litter I've had is here, from my first on 28 June 2026, each with the photo I took the day it was born. None is ever taken out. For anything newer, see the news.
